SAFELOOP

SAFELOOP is a collaborative battery research, design, and development consortium comprising 15 entities across 11 countries, focused on advancing GEN‑3 electric vehicle (EV) lithium-ion battery (LIB) manufacturing for European markets. As part of the Battery2030+ initiative, SAFELOOP aims to develop a safe, sustainable, and high-performance LIB suitable for gigafactory-scale production, addressing the rapidly growing demand for approximately 735 GWh of battery capacity by 2026 and supporting a projected 125 million EVs by 2033.

The project is driving innovation across core battery components, including anodes, cathodes, separators, and electrolytes, by integrating recycled materials and targeting higher performance and sustainability standards. SAFELOOP aims to achieve a 15% increase in battery lifetime by 2030, while meeting EUCAR Hazard Level 3 safety benchmarks and advancing Europe’s recycling goals.

A key priority is building a resilient European battery supply chain, reducing reliance on imports, and lowering environmental impact, ultimately enabling the development of EV batteries with significantly higher recycled content and improved recyclability.

Advancing Commercial Partnerships

​Cadoux is actively engaging with key members of the SAFELOOP Consortium to position its HPA as a critical material for next-generation lithium-ion batteries.

As SAFELOOP’s designated HPA specialist, Cadoux is working directly with cell manufacturers, separator producers, and anode and cathode developers to align specifications, qualification pathways, and future volume demand.

These collaborations are focused on integrating Cadoux’s HPA into advanced ceramic-coated and doped battery components which is essential for delivering improved safety, performance, reliability, and circularity.

Beyond technical validation, Cadoux is advancing commercial discussions covering long-term supply agreements, pricing models, and co-development strategies. The goal: enable seamless scale-up from pilot programs to gigafactory-level production.

By partnering early with SAFELOOP participants, Cadoux is de-risking market entry, building strategic supply relationships, and securing a pathway to sustained revenue as the European battery ecosystem moves toward industrial deployment.

This approach reinforces Cadoux’s broader strategy to embed its HPA within European battery supply chains through deep technical collaboration and commercial alignment.

premiumHPA®

Cadoux has secured customer qualification for its premiumHPA®, the company’s branded end-stage HPA product, through the EU-funded SAFELOOP Gen3 lithium-ion battery program.

Following a rigorous 24 month, multi-stage validation process, premiumHPA® delivered strong performance across electrochemical, thermal, lifecycle, and safety testing. Its ultra-high purity and precisely controlled particle structure improved separator heat resistance, reduced high-temperature shrinkage, and enhanced battery safety by lowering thermal runaway risk.

Tested across multiple cell chemistries and manufacturing environments, premiumHPA® demonstrated the consistency and reliability required for demanding automotive-grade applications.

Qualification was achieved via a comprehensive seven-step process spanning formulation, cell validation, pilot-scale trials, extended reliability testing, and commercial assessment. This milestone confirms both the technical strength of premiumHPA® and Cadoux’s position as a trusted supplier of critical battery materials.
